2009 Motto BELIEVE I am a Brother Rice Warrior. I am a man who knows what excellence is and what it takes to reach it. I know that in order to win, I must dedicated myself through self discipline and learn over and over again the meaning of Pride, Endurance, and Desire. I truly understand that achieving goals means a constant awareness of my will in paying the price. I have proven to myself through training, that battles and victories go to a man who believes in himself. I realize also that preparing myself with everything I have in me, and doing things better than I have ever done them before...these are the essentials of greatness. I know what it means and what it is to be a champion. I understand that achieving greatness is an ever present challenge and meeting these challenges means sacrifice, perseverance, and complete dedication again, and again, and again.
Finally, with encouragement through God, I pledge to live life to its fullest in order that I can live up to the courage and bravery of a true Warrior.

With the school year ending, our focus goes forth to the 2009 football season. We have a good parent email list started from last year. If you want to add or change your email address to be included in the regular emails for all three teams (Varsity - JV - Freshman) from the Varsity Captain Parents of 2009, please email Jenny Cherocci at: cherocci@sbcglobal.net If you are receiving this email and want your email address removed - please send an email to Jenny Cherocci at: cherocci@sbcglobal.net. If you have not visited the Warriors Football website, please do at: www.ricewarriors.com. This website is very informative and is kept up-to-date. The purpose of the website is to supply the families and players with information and to reduce the number of calls to coaches. This website is active all year. There is a lot of information, forms you can download, directions to away games, pictures and more. A big thank you to Coach Popp for his time and dedication to the website. It is great! Senior parents, please have your son go the website and click on "Senior Profile Form". Senior players need to fill out the form and submit online. We would like to have all the senoirs be represented. There is a tab - "Senior Warriors" dedicated to them. Senior pictures will be updated in August following picture day. Attention student athletes: Athletic physicals will be offered at Brother Rice on Thursday, May 28th from 6 - 8 PM. The charge will bne $25 with check payable to Henry Ford Athletic Medicine. Cash is also accepted. The Michigan High School Athletic Association Medical History form must be completed (both sides and including signatures) prior to the exam. Blank forms are available in the Athletic Office and Front Office or online at www.brrice.edu - go to Athletics and Athletic Announcements. The MHSAA requires that each student athlete have a completed physical on file after April 15th of the current school year, and prior to any athletic tryouts or competition. A physical is required each year for all student athletes. Keep in mind, if you do not have a physical on file before the first day of camp, August 10th, you will not be able to participate. Mark your calendars: Sunday August 9, 2009 - Car Wash - Equipment hand out from 10 - 2. Seniors - First Shift Juniors - Second Shift Sophomores - Third Shift More details to follow as the date draws near. Saturday August 22, 2009 - Ice Cream Social from 1 - 3 Opportunity to buy football car decals, order football spirit wear and sign up for many fun experiences throughout the season. We are still trying to collect money for the "BELIEVE" banner for the 2009 season. Thank you to all the families who have already done so. We want to have this ready before the team gathers on August 10th for their first practice. A suggested $2 donation is all we ask. We have not reached the half way mark yet. Your support is greatly appreciated. The donations can be sent in an envelope to the front office labled: 2009 Warrior Football / Banner Donation. Attn. Jenny Cherocci, Maureen Grisan and Toni Bufalino We BELIEVE in the 2009 Warrior football teams. Make sure to have your sons check out the calendars for the summer weight training times. John Lenihan has been taking picutres from Brother Rice for years. I was not aware until recently that some of us may not know we can go online to his website to look at the photos he took from the games to preview them and purchase.
Speaking for the Conway's, "he is the best. We have used him for 3 years and in addition to being a great photographer he is a wonderful person committed to Rice."
Van & Sue Conway
I have personally worked with John and encourage you to take a momnet to look at his website: lenihan.lifepics.com
Enter his site, Click on "Full Gallery", Choose catagory: "Football 08", and sub catagory: "Varsity 08" --- you will find pictures from the 2008 season including some Parent Appreciation photos.
Below is several messages from other Brother Rice / Marian families:
Thanks,
Jenny
We are fortunate to have a professional photographer, John Lenihan, taking pictures at our games. Please, view the varsity, JV and freshman picture pages to see what he has to offer. The photos on the pages represent a small sample of all the pictures taken. John takes over 300 pictures a game. Please contact him for more information. John also creates photo blankets. Here are some words from a couple of people who have purchased them. "I just received the blandets that I ofered from John. They are gorgeous. They turned out fantastic. I am very pleased with the final product. The blankets are going to be great gifts and keepsakes. Thanks for all your hard work John." "I wanted to let you know that my mother absolutely loved the blandet. She has it thrown onher bed in our second bedroom. Thanks once again."
