2010 Motto Stay Strong - State Forte I am a Brother Rice Warrior. I am a man who knows what excellence is and what it takes to reach it. I know that in order to win, I must dedicated myself through self discipline and learn over and over again the meaning of Pride, Endurance, and Desire. I truly understand that achieving goals means a constant awareness of my will in paying the price. I have proven to myself through training, that battles and victories go to a man who believes in himself. I realize also that preparing myself with everything I have in me, and doing things better than I have ever done them before...these are the essentials of greatness. I know what it means and what it is to be a champion. I understand that achieving greatness is an ever present challenge and meeting these challenges means sacrifice, perseverance, and complete dedication again, and again, and again. Finally, with encouragement through God, I pledge to live life to its fullest in order that I can live up to the courage and bravery of a true Warrior. Coach Al Fracassa September 12, 1973
Below are two readings that Coach Fracassa had in the Brother Rice locker room for his 1969 and 1970 football teams. This was sent to me by a player from those first two years. If you think you're beaten, you are,
Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory. be; a son who will know Thee and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail. who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep; one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past. so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously. Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength. |

John Lenihan has been taking picutres from Brother Rice for years. I was not aware until recently that some of us may not know we can go online to his website to look at the photos he took from the games to preview them and purchase.
Speaking for the Conway's, "he is the best. We have used him for 3 years and in addition to being a great photographer he is a wonderful person committed to Rice."
Van & Sue Conway
I have personally worked with John and encourage you to take a momnet to look at his website: lenihan.lifepics.com
Enter his site, Click on "Full Gallery", Choose catagory: "Football 08", and sub catagory: "Varsity 08" --- you will find pictures from the 2008 season including some Parent Appreciation photos.
Below is several messages from other Brother Rice / Marian families:

Jenny
We are fortunate to have a professional photographer, John Lenihan, taking pictures at our games. Please, view the varsity, JV and freshman picture pages to see what he has to offer. The photos on the pages represent a small sample of all the pictures taken. John takes over 300 pictures a game. Please contact him for more information. John also creates photo blankets. Here are some words from a couple of people who have purchased them. "I just received the blandets that I ofered from John. They are gorgeous. They turned out fantastic. I am very pleased with the final product. The blankets are going to be great gifts and keepsakes. Thanks for all your hard work John." "I wanted to let you know that my mother absolutely loved the blandet. She has it thrown onher bed in our second bedroom. Thanks once again."
