Several years ago I was perusing a thrift store in West Palm Beach, FL. I was thrilled to find an amazing hooded sweatshirt with the words 'Brother Rice' and that distinct logo on the front. Priced at $1.75 it was a bargain. Suffice to say, I recieve many inquiries about it and always tell folks that I found it at thrift store. It was one of the best deals I've ever had...Anyway, I just today tracked down the source and have been reviewing your website. It pleases me greatly to learn of such a place as Brother Rice. Would that the world had more of you....And now I can answer more completely the question, "What's Brother Rice?"
I don't know if Coach Francassa remembers my husband Scott Welch, who was the qb during the early 80's that won one of the state championships, but my husband certainly remembers Coach Francassa. There isn't a week that goes by that Scott doesn't tell us a story about his early football days or Coach.
This year, after much prompting, Scott became an assistant coach for the Washburn Castle Guards, up on Lake Superior in Wisconsin. Though I've never met Coach Francassa, I'd like to tell him thank you for the values, integrity and great football sense that my husband has! Jamie Welch
