Brother Rice Warriors Football

Preparing to be the Best

Warrior Creed

I am a Brother Rice Warrior.  I am a man who knows what excellence is and what it takes to reach it.  I know that in order to win, I must dedicated myself through self discipline and learn over and over again the meaning of Pride, Endurance, and Desire.  I truly understand that achieving goals means a constant awareness of my will in paying the price.  I have proven to myself through training, that battles and victories go to a man who believes in himself.

I realize also that preparing myself with everything I have in me, and doing things better than I have ever done them before...these are the essentials of greatness.  I know what it means and what it is to be a champion.  I understand that achieving greatness is an ever present challenge and meeting these challenges means sacrifice, perseverance, and complete dedication again, and again, and again.
Finally, with encouragement through God, I pledge to live life to its fullest in order that I can live up to the courage and bravery of a true Warrior.

As this is our 2008 Motto, I thought the following to be appropriate:

The Best are Optimists.

The Best have Vision.  They can see ahead of the pack.

The Best Relentlessly Pursue Excellence.  The status quo is not for them.

The Best have a Life Long Habit of Personal Growth

The Best Understand that They will be Pushed by the Competition - and They Welcome It.

The Best have a Quest for Leadership.  Someone has to lead - it may as well be the best!

The Best Leave a Legacy.  They aren't in it just for themselves

The Best are Adept at the Two Most Important Pieces of Time and Personal Management: Prioritize and Execute.

The Best Focus on Building Relationships.  People become the best because they help other people, and people like them.

The Best Make no Excuses.  When they fail they admit it and move on.

The Best Dare to Dream.  While others live the mundane and settle into a life they never bargained for, a rut, the Best dream of a better life.  And then they take the risks

"The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, learn about them or even seriously consider them as believable or achievable.  Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them."

Below is a letter and photo sent so Mrs. Cherocci from the college hall of fame marketing and sales manager.

Hello Mrs. Cherocci!

I would first of all like to congratulate you on your win versus
Penn High
School
! It was a well played game and your boys were fantastic!

I would also like to thank you once again for taking time to visit the
College Football Hall of Fame in your downtime. The team and the staff were
an absolute pleasure to serve and I do not think we could have asked for a
more well behaved and respectful team. I have hosted many teams representing
several different sports (both high school and college alike) and I can
honestly say Brother Rice was the most enjoyable! Your boys did a phenomenal
job representing your school and team with class and tact.

If the team would like to see the pictures that were taken while they were
here, direct them to the
Facebook website and search for the College
Football Hall of Fame
. The fan page has the photos up for them to do with as
they please.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart! I hope to see you guys here
again next time you come through South Bend!

Picture Information

John Lenihan has been taking picutres from Brother Rice for years.  I was not aware until recently that some of us may not know we can go online to his website to look at the photos he took from the games to preview them and purchase.

Speaking for the Conway's, "he is the best. We have used him for 3 years and in addition to being a great photographer he is a wonderful person committed to Rice."
 Van & Sue Conway

I have personally worked with John and encourage you to take a momnet to look at his website:  www.lenihanphotos.com
Enter his site, Click on "Full Gallery", Choose catagory: "Football 08", and sub catagory: "Varsity 08" --- you will find pictures from the 2008 season including some Parent Appreciation photos.

Below is several messages from other Brother Rice / Marian families:

We are fortunate to have a professional photographer, John Lenihan, taking pictures at our games.  Please, view the varsity, JV and freshman picture pages to see what he has to offer.  The photos on the pages represent a small sample of all the pictures taken.  John takes over 300 pictures a game.  Please contact him for more information.

John also creates photo blankets.  Here are some words from a couple of people who have purchased them.

"I just received the blandets that I ofered from John.  They are gorgeous.  They turned out fantastic.  I am very pleased with the final product.  The blankets are going to be great gifts and keepsakes.  Thanks for all your hard work John."

"I wanted to let you know that my mother absolutely loved the blandet.  She has it thrown onher bed in our second bedroom.  Thanks once again."
